Merrion's is in the village of Highertown where the Island Stores, PO, craft bakery, farm cafe, tea rooms/bistro, fish and chips, art gallery and vineyard are all located. There is both a Church and Methodist Chapel in Highertown, and a postal flower service.

Lowertown is a 20 minute stroll away, where you will find Fay Page's jewellery, The Sevenstones Inn and Karma Hotel. St. Martin's is also home to a brand new community centre which boasts a large sports hall, gym and well stocked reading room/quiet area.
